Weather & Climate
When hiking in Gran Canaria it is very important to check the weather conditions before you start the hike.
The weather in Gran Canaria is extremely varied and local.
After many years of hiking in Gran Canaria, we have long experience reading the weather here, so that we can choose the hiking routs based on daily weather conditions.
Often the weather is very different only a few kilometers away, or on the breath side of the mountain.
When the humid northeast passages are pushed up against the Gran Canaria mountains, a cloud cover forms which quickly lowers the temperature and degrades the visibility.
If you plan to hike on Gran Canaria you should always prepare yourself, especially if you get up in the mountains. Always wear warm clothes, like fleece shirt, wind jacket + pants. Sometimes it can also be nice with hat and gloves.
We rely on many years of weather reading, we also use different weather pages.
